Scheduling and Curriculum

Our rigorous, college preparatory curriculum is designed to prepare every student for college. We require our students to complete at least two Advanced Placement courses, submit college applications, and fulfill at least 60 hours of community service before graduation, with two school-wide opportunities to register within each academic year. Our staff is also available to meet with students to plan out academic courses and discuss school curriculum at any time.

College Rep Visits

In order for students to understand the breadth of opportunities available to them, our college counseling team hosts college and university representative visits for juniors and seniors each year. Students should register to attend no later than the Friday prior to the scheduled visit. Sign up forms will be distributed by the college counseling team.

Campus Visits

A critical step in deciding whether a certain college or university is right for your student, is to visit the campus in-person and experience it up close. Juniors and seniors at PVA are given two excused absences each academic year to visit the campuses of their choice. In order to receive the excused absence, please complete the Campus Visit Form and submit it two weeks before the trip.
